I will forward you what she has said so far. That sounds good. I know that silent auctions can be run efficiently and without a lot of hassle if they are set up right... I've been to several long-standing ones that are. >Charlene has suggested selling other aquatic plant-related donations in >addition to the plants. Even if you have a "lot of lots" you are not going to have that many different species. One of the long term silent auctions I've gone to does it this way. If there are multiples of one item, they are ALL put on the same auction card. (we could do this for all lots of a single species, no matter who donated them) The person who bids highest on the card gets first pick, the next highest gets 2nd pick, etc, until there are no more. Another way to have neat stuff to auction but keep the auction simpler (and smaller) is to make all lots donation only. The whole purpose of this first event is to plan and prepare for the "big one". I think most people would be willing to donate some plants to the cause. Then NEXT year work out the details of splitting money with the vendors. >I leave for parent's weekend tomorrow morning at my son's school and will be >gone until late Sun. night. Have fun!
