One of the organizations at the TN AQ holds them in a particular way which seems to work well. Charlene would like to hold them in the same way. It sounds good to me - they seem to avoid the pitfalls NEC had to deal with when they had silent auctions, and I have asked her for more information on the preparations involved. I will forward you what she has said so far. Charlene has suggested selling other aquatic plant-related donations in addition to the plants. We haven't discussed lots brought in by other attendees. I am wondering how much money we should aim to rise for seed money for the next convention. Lots brought in by attendees would make the auction longer. Even if we limited the lots to 5 per person say, that would make many more goods to sell. Could we handle that in a silent auction? I leave for parent's weekend tomorrow morning at my son's school and will be gone until late Sun. night.
