Hi Jay,Here is my thinking: I think that having a nicer layout for the convention pictures is a good thing, and something to do for this year's convention pictures.
However, I don't see a need for a full-blown interactive forumish thing at this point. I would think that the "convention picture gallery" be made entirely with static pages and images at convention time?
I am gathering that you see a larger purpose to a general "gallery" than just the annual convention pictures. If so, please reply with particulars, 'cause I think the board was also under the impression we were just talking convention pictures.
Also, since you're now one of the official "do-ers", I'd like to offer you the dubious honor of joining the Advisory Committee mailing list, where you'll be forced to hit the delete button more than you ever wanted, but will also be able to participate in discussions of this sort. You can't vote, but it's almost as good.

Erik,So what is the status with Gallery ?. Would you be interested in new, more "professional" layout (Gallery Software) or you still against it :). I would strongly recommend one. I know people said in the past that current picture layout is a bit chaotic and this could bring more traffic to website as well as help create more interest in online AGA shop/books/TAG/membership etc. If we work on it now, we could have that implemented before AGA and create interest. I know you are busy with AGA preparations so I wouldn't mind taking initiative. Helping even more. Also, how about sending AGA mass email about Coming up attraction - new Gallery. This is not a huge project but it will created more traffic around AGA website and whole organization. In that email you can also mention New Photographer Position and presence at AGA. Some people are interested in this stuff and will definitely spend few minutes browsing "around the website" looking for gallery. If you guys circulating AGA related emails around the AGA Board and you need some help, scream. I'm here and ready to help out.Regards, Jay Luto _________________________________________________________________Check out Election 2004 for up-to-date election news, plus voter tools and more! http://special.msn.com/msn/election2004.armx
