> I agree with Scott that there needs to be one "big-name draw". Ole > Pedersen? Neils Jacobsen? Claus? You know I love Claus, and he can be a good draw, particularly in an area where no one local has heard him. But it might be fun to have one of the others. Niels Jacobsen speaks good English, but is very soft-spoken. Of course he'd have the Crypt people eating out of his hands, and I suspect he has a lot of collecting material he could use for another talk. Ole WRITES very well in English, so I suspect he speaks reasonably well, and we could run it by Claus to make sure. However, he's still out in Thailand doing seagrass research, so I don't know his availability. He is very knowledgeable on all-things-plant-related. Probably more than anyone we've ever had speak. The BIG advantage N.C. has for all of these people is that it's a really interesting place to get out in the field. Which is an added enticement for them to come. Incidetally, I just talked to one of the Raleigh A.S. people this afternoon. (he's sending me some plants for ID) I mentioned that the plant folk might be thinking about bringing AGA to N.C. next fall. I suggested that he get in touch with Phil and see if the clubs can join forces to have a bigger work pool.
