Thnkas, that helps to put spome perspective on the enigmatic text. I think at best there are mixed signals about Monterey. My own view of the area (I lived in CA from '58 - '82) would be mixed at best, also. Since most of the convention weeked is spent in the hotel, proximity to an airport is maybe more important than the geographical "ambience". Any highways would be tough to travel on the coast of CA, so that probably should factor into Field Trips. Heck, I'd sooner spend a weekend in Arcata as Monterey.
