Notes:

1. This year's convention hasn't caught up to 2001's total yet, but I have no doubt it will.

Do you suppose this is becsuse of Amano's demo? How about a "combo package"?

Absolutely, it's because those years both have Amano's talks and demos. Dunno about a combo package... the thing's already so ridiculously discounted already at $25 a pop.

3. What actually surprised me was how many contest CD's were sold LAST year.

But the contest as a whole is becoming bigger. And the hobby as progressed. Does this not explain it?

I guess we'll just have to see how this year's sells, but it really seems out of place amongst all years so far.

4. I am SO glad that it's 100% DVD now. It would have been quite painful to duplicate 60 VHS tapes of the convention, even 3 at a time.

No doubt. Is there a next step?

Dunno really. With the completion of the TAG disk and the "remaster" of 2000-2002, it feels to me like I've completed all the projects *I* wanted to do for the AGA under my "media guy" hat...for now. There have always been some ideas that I've had or Karen's had of making some more professional topical videos under the AGA moniker... i.e., "beginning aquatic plants", or maybe even "native plant collecting". But these will have to wait for a year when I'm not using my infant as a model for CO2 cylinder transport "don'ts".

Now in terms of generating more interest in the disks, or using them to generate more interest in the AGA, maybe there's some ideas you might have?

PS: Have you added that Canadian new member guy "Neveu" to the database already? Since he's non-responsive to e-mail, I'm about ready to refund the whole transaction... wondering if I should refund all but the membership, or whether this would be rude.
