Re: [AGA-mcm] Back Issues of PAM

While AGA purchased all the back issues of PAM, and in the agreement replaced left-over PAM subscriptions to AGA memberships, as far as I remember there were no other rights acquired at that time. Sigh. I hope Dave is not paying attention too closely to this thread on the APD. This could get nasty.

The pickle is that I DID include the two out-of-print issues of PAM in the TAG CD.

As far as I'm concerned, these reprints are as darned close to reprints of the magazines as humanly possible. We went through this five years ago... If we started doing OCR and reformatting, it's no longer strictly a reprint. But since these are just scans of the pages directly, they're essentially reprints. Did Gomberg's agreement with his authors not cover reprint of the magazine itself?

What I'm worried about now is that either (a) Dave will now claim that we're illegally reprinting PAM, because he has the rights even though we bought all the stock and bailed out his membership, or (b) Dave will, in his "undercutting" mode, make his own CD with all the PAM issues on it, and we will essentially lose whatever remaining value the paper copies have.
