Finally, while it's nice to hear that Phil liked another volume in this series, the TFH track record is pretty poor when it comes to accurate, useful information in books. TFH also has a horrible reputation in the industry.
So I guess we'd need to have three different conversations. First, whether we wanted to change the focus of the book store. Second, whether Diana was willing, and if not, whether we had someone else who would take it on LONG TERM and RELIABLY, the way Diana has, and third, even if we we decided "yes" to both of those, whether we want to become bedfellows with TFH as our first step in expanding book store offerings.

Phil Edwards wrote:Hey all,I just talked with TFH about advertising in their magazine. Here's the scoop, all prices are for a full year/12 issues of color ads. We would have to pay for the first ad up front and then will be invoiced for the others. They're sending me a hard copy of any pertinant info, but I wanted to get the vitals out to chew on before that.1C: $1441.57 2/3C: $1092.60 1/2C: $897.35 1/3C: $872.42 1/4:C: $855.80Thanks for the info, Phil. I think this helps us to decide not only whether we want to advertise, but also to double-check our own rates for TAG.Also, they're coming out with the book "The Simple Guide to the Planted Aquarium". I got the SGt Freshwater Aquarium for my wife and found it to be a very good book. The SG to Marine and Ponds are equally good and I thought it might be a worthwhile thing to look into selling copies of ...Planted... in the bookstore. We would pay 50% suggested retail price, $8.97 per copy, with no minimum order.Folks, if we could get them to send a review copy, who would do a book review?I personally would love to have more action in the book dept. CherylJane Frame is the representative for this and can be reached at jframe@tfh.com to set up the financials and other details on this if we're interested. FYI, the AGA did get mention in the book.I'm still trying to track down info on pond mags, Phil_______________________________________________ AGA-mcm mailing list AGA-mcm@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-mcm
