Sorry, perhaps I didn't make it clear enough. We would sell CHRISTEL'S ORIGINAL GERMAN BOOK, complete with its beautiful pictures, unmangled by Krieger. Bundled with it would be our little black & white English translation "script". Yes, people would have to "read along". But they would have a translation.
I do not think the AGA has the resources (financially or otherwise) to publish a book at this time. I would estimate the interest in the Echinodorus book for our members in the 50's or 100's, not the 2500 needed to justify a print run.

What I am theorizing (not even proposing) is that we would find someone who would be willing to translate from the German for little or no money (unfortunately), and then we print a BLACK AND WHITE booklet, possibly even xeroxed if that were cheaper, with JUST THE TEXT, as well as back-references to the book pages. We would sell Christel's book bundled with this translation.I think a major portion of the draw of Christel's books are the fabulous pictures. I've seen the german copy of Echinodorus and it's got pictures galore. Not having read it in a few years I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling that the Echinodorus section in Aquarium Plants is sufficient for all but the hardcore Echinodorus afficianado. We're really have to do it with full color photos to get maximum interest from it.Best, Phil _______________________________________________ AGA-mcm mailing list AGA-mcm@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-mcm
