Personally, I'm all for hearing stuff I haven't heard before. Some of this stuff is starting to sound like a catchy pop tune to me. However, they want to see Amano and by the time the convention rolls around, it will be four years since he was here. And I understand that he would love to come. We could decide what's best for them to see instead of more Amano, but as you say, we aren't busting with alternatives. Maybe we should even bring Kasselman back.
And see how what the overlap is.

I volunteer to keep track of registration. I will not do the sales table this year, although I am willing to recruit and train someone else to do it.
The DFWAPC is petering out lately. The last few meetings have been sort of lame and poorly attended, mostly due to lack of leadership IMO. A huge project of this type would either regenerate the club or break it completely.
And finally, I believe I am among friends here so I will speak honestly. I am against having Amano speak. It's like we can't think of anyone else. I don't have any better ideas other than what has been
talked about on this list. Maybe it's time to get some new blood in on the discussion.
