Re: [AGA Member] Pellia

My Pellia took a very long time to get established and once it did, it has taken off. Someone gave me a piece literally the size of a dime. I wasn't expecting it and was happy for that. Now I have 4 patches of it about 3-4" across. Once it gets going, it seems to do well. I have it in a high light/high tech/high fertilization tank and I have it in a 10 gal/ DIY CO2/15 watts light/no fertilizer tank. It does great in both.

I'm not sure what the mystique is about it though. It's just a little green plant. I still have awhile before I have enough to give away. I hope to grow enough to integrate into an aquascpe eventually.

I thought I'd lost my original starter that I got from Claus last Spring in
my big tank, but it is now quite obvious, and growing steadily. It may be
like duckweed, where you don't even notice that first little leaf... it's
got to get going, then it's hard to get rid of.<g>

I also thought I killed the culture he gave me in Nov., (as I mentioned at
NEC) by leaving it on the windowsill as the weather got warmer. But that
culture is rising, like a Phoenix from the ashes again. It may not grow
fast, but it seems to be one tough plant.
