RE: [AGA Member] CO2 bottle consumed after 2 weeks

Hi,

My first experience with CO2 lasted one day. The fitting from the bottle to
the regulator was not tight enough. My second experience lasted two weeks.
The screw-on cap to the glass diffuser was not tight enough. My third
experience, the CO2 is going strong. Over two months and no problem in
sight. In conclusion, check and re-check all connections and fittings. Some
people recommend using a spray bottle filled with water to check for leaks.
Most likely, you can rule out defective equipment due to it being new and
all. Myself, I shut off the CO2 at night with a timer. It is set for
approximately 8 hours of usage.

Subject: [AGA Member] CO2 bottle consumed after 2 weeks

Hi All,
Two weeks ago I've bought my first pressurized CO2 system - effect was
tremendous!
The sad thing it that the bottle(500grams) is now empty - frustrating...
The pressure was about 0.8 bar, bubble per second till you could not count
bubbles anymore - water pushed out from the diffuser PH 6.8 plants and fish
are happy. Did I do anything wrong in the setup ?
Vendor claims that it should last for 3 up to 8 months - depends on usage.
Is there a problem with the regulator ?

Amit

I try to find fish that are compatible with the local water simply for
convenience(Tanganyikan's. I have filter gravel on one side and Fluorite on
the other. The tank is divided but water is passing through both sides.
196 watts on the Fluorite side and almost the same on the other. I
struggled about a year with the yeast CO2 systems but several months ago
purchased cylinder and two each (different types) diffusers They have
helped tremendously.

However I have had very good luck with the following blends.

Tropica Master Grow's were high. Not very scientific, I realise but for my
tank perimeters this has been working very good. I have been using the
follow doses with an Eheim dosing unit.
