You know, I hadn't thought about the slowdown of java moss growth in the tank with my now mature SAE's, but there is a correlation in my tank. The java moss still looks nice, but I do feed the SAE's extra food (they especially love live California black worms). Considering how big the SAE's are and how little algae of any sort is in the tank (as in none at all, right now), I'm not surprised they'd start nibbling on fresh growth! Perhaps I need to step up my feeding even one more notch to see if they'll still eat the algae but leave the java moss entirely alone... **** Kirsten Klinghammer Rescue, California, USA -----Original Message----- From: aga-member-bounces@thekrib.com [mailto:aga-member-bounces@thekrib.com] On Behalf Of RMGTBTS@aol.com Sent: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 2:16 PM To: aga-member@thekrib.com Subject: Re: [AGA-Member] I can't grow mosses i have had octocinclus in several tanks with abundant growth of Java moss and have never seen any damage. i have had SAE's however that when they got mature would rather eat whatever type of food was available than work at eating algae. rich green milton ma _______________________________________________ AGA-Member mailing list AGA-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-member _______________________________________________ AGA-Member mailing list AGA-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-member
