[AGA-Member] Re: AGA-Member Digest, Vol 21, Issue 6

I read in one of the last "Aquatic Gardener" that plants suck out hardness turning the water soft and this causes problems.  So what is the easiest solution?  Can you simple start with a substrate that has the right minerals in it?  Can you add some rock or substrate  to the filter so as it slowly dissolves the water does not become soft? 

 Hope you all don't think this is too dumb a question.
