Hoboy. Gosh, if I were Claus or Ole, I'd think twice about even approaching the AGA now. I understand part of where Mary is coming from (he did sort of "promise" the article to the AGA once it had been published overseas, as acknowledged by Mary's editing out the crucial data in my notes from last year's NEC convention, and he did make it sound like it was exclusive, or at least "first", at the time). I'm sure there was some kind of screwup, like Dave probably came and talked to him and got him to agree to publish it in PAM too. How long has Mary been sitting on this article? Nonetheless, for Mary to say the article is worthless since it's been published elsewhere is not only insulting, but it's also invalid. Consider that over half, maybe 3/4 of the articles in TAG are now reprints from other journals. So what do we do, ask Mary to apologize to the two authors? Replace Mary as editor and merge with PAM to save it from bankruptcy (as per Dave's note that arrived curiously at the same time?) :) OK, just kidding on the last one. - Erik On Mon, 5 Mar 2001, Karen Randall wrote: > I see this as a _real_ problem.
