Re: charlene again, and next year's convention (fwd)



I wrote to Charlene and asked for a little more info.  Here's what she sent

I really think it's WAY better for PR that we hold the convention even if
there is a light turn-out anyway.   Even if it ends up costing the AGA
money, Those people who had already made their travel arrangements would be
left holding the bag with plane tickets to Houston if we cancelled.  They
(and that includes me! would NOT be happy!)

I think a lot of people had already made their plane reservations before
Sept. 11th last year, and felt that they didn't want to waste the money by
not coming.  This convention is even more expensive to attend, and the
economy has been even worse this year.  I think a lot of people are feeling
the pinch.
