However, it is the discussion that started on APD about updating nutrient information (Sears - Conlin) and posting it on the Krib that has me thinking - wishing this could be posted on the AGA site also. Why bother? Because posts on APD and I imagine other plant boards often refer people to credible sites that have the information they are seeking. If that site could be the AGA reference page perhaps new people would visit a few times and then join? We see some of that from commercial enterprises on APD, so why not promote AGA? Erik wrote: Right you are! Actually, my first thought after replying to Tom's post was "hey, TAG article!" Karen and I & the rest of the board have talked about updating some of the content on the site to be more representative of recent articles. ... So, actually, y'know, here's something that might be a way all of you could help out... what sorts of "seminal" articles would you think are good to have on the AGA website? Maybe it's something that's appeared in TAG in the last year or two, or maybe it's something that hasn't even been written yet. Anything that immediately floats to the surface for anyone? Me, me!!! While I was still in bed with this hand thing, Scott posted saomething on APD about me doing my own web site. Since I was kind of fired up at the time after designing (on my own, though Cheryl is cleaning it up for me) a web site for my new business, and I had time on my hands (hand?) I thought I might start on that project. As a first step in that direction, I was going through my Aquarium Frontiers series, which covers pretty much every aspect of setting up and maintaining planted aquariums. Some of the articles seem hopelessly out of date from this perspective, however. So it meant editting and updating each one as I went along. I've gotten through a few of them already. This seems like it would be a great mingling of resources if Erik actually has ANY time to make it happen. I'd be happy to can the idea of a "personal" web site in favor of just housing all my back article (revised) on the AGA website. I think that if Scott's willing, "Stranded" would make an excellent and obvious addition. That would give a terrific core of articles. Because they'd be revised, they'd be worth reading even for those who have visited the AF site. I could also include many of my AFM articles too, since AFM only has FNA rights. Those articles aren't available anywhere, and there are MANY people new enough to the hobby that they never saw them. Obviously, I can't get them all done quickly, but I can immediately hand you the ones I've revised, and keep plugging away at them. I have included a "revised date" on all of them so that people can see at a glance how current the information is. Then we can add other articles when and if it makes sense.
