I don't mind the local speaker/Health of the Bay talk because folks could extrapolate to their own areas and think/get involved.
I think that Amano could easily wear out two translators. Likewise his talk may need to be longer than anyone else's simply because more time must be allowed for translation.
I think my husband was one of the few that used the cash bar, but we could do without it.
I thought having both a silent and a live auction at the same time was confusing.
I see nothing in the budget about mailing registration flyers to AGA members, only to pet shops. Their call, but based on the number of people who prefer to mail me a check rather than pay online for membership, I think this is a mistake.
I'm very pleased to see all of this stuff being thought of so far in advance. While the Dallas organizers did a bang-up job, I got the feeling that much of the "planning" was really "seat of your pants" and "the person with the biggest mouth gets put in charge." Since we had no template to follow and folks used good sense, it worked. Now we have created the template and I feel much more comfortable abut the planning. Or maybe I'm just relieved that I don't have to do any of it. :-)
