Question regarding preferences for hotel negotiations

If GWAPA has to trade off between room service fees (use of
ballroom, etc.) and roomnight rates for attendees, would
you prefer that they tend toward lower room rates or a
lower ballroom fee?

This is irrespective of whether they can negotiate a
sliding scale for any costs based on total roomnights
rented.

Personally, I think the lower roomnight rate would be to
our advantage because it will promote attendance while a
lower Ballroom fee will not. While a lower roomnight rate
does not translate directly as money in AGA's pocket, with
a good turnout, the ballroom fee will be covered *and* more
folks will have the benefit of attending the convention.

But views differ. What's yours.
