Apparently, Karen's printer only charges about $1.00 per copy for copies over 1,000 and less than I think it was, 2,500 at which point there is another small price break. You can specify any specific amount you want. Your printer charges about $2.6-$2.67 per copy and apparently that unit price holds regardless of amount -- atually it drops about a penny per 500 or so. I've attached a small spreadsheet showing total and incremental costs for 1,000, 1,500, and 2,000 copies for the Texas printer and Amprint. The quantities used I chose because they fit the quotes Cheryl has gotten. Given that the incremental price is nearly the same regardless of quantity with Cheryl's printer, the amount is moot -- other quantities could have been picked without much affect onthe analysis. Note that due to the higher cost for the first 1,000, Amprint would still be more expensive, even up 2,000 copies, assuming an incremental cost cost per copy of $1. The numbers come for the posted quotes and the Amount David reported on Dec 15, 2003 for Amprint The $1 assumption comes from yesterday's posts. Note that this is an incremental cost analysis and not a marginal analysis -- if that matters to you. I ignored the Canadian printer, whose prices for 1,000 were about the same as the Texas printer, since we haven't any data on larger volumes. sh --- Cheryl Rogers <cheryl@wilstream.com> wrote: > Got a quote from the printers today, and they say that > "we already got the > price break," which I don't really understand.
