Maybe I'm just sore. :-\ Certainly balls were dropped, and I think Ghazanfar's (at least outward) Eastern unflappability was disconcerting. However, when you look at the whole picture, including his inexperience with planning a major event, as well as how much got shifted onto his shoulders directly because so many other people backed out on him, another person might have quit outright. (or had a nervous breakdown, which wouldn't have served well either<g>) I actually think that the fact that he APPEARED so calm and collected is part of what made the chaos invisible to many of the non-management conference-goers. I also think that he learned from the mistakes made, and will be a valuable influence on the next conference team. He is certainly not a hot-head.<g> The bottom line for me, in terms of who should or shouldn't be on the Advisory list, is that we must feel comfortable that they will NOT abuse the "inside information" they are privy to on the list. We all need to feel that we can speak freely. I think the number of conversations that have gone off-list recently is an indication that we currently DON'T feel that we can. Oh, I thought of someone else on the list... Ann. I have no objections at all to her staying, and with her on-going role as t-shirt sales person, it is certainly appropriate for her to be there.
