Yes and no.  Certainly we all feel "catty" from time to time, and because we
are freinds, sometimes take it off list to make comments we KNOW we
shouldn't make in public, but will be understood by the one or two people we
want to share it with.  Those things definitely do NOT belong on an even
semi-public list.  However, there are time when we do need to be candid,
even if we try to frame our words politely.  We can't be candid when there
are people on the lsit who are then reporting to the general hobby via the
BB's, on how they need to whip the AGA into shape.

I still think that even if he wants to take on more duties, to have a place
on the advisory list, he needs to also have a strong (if private) talking-to
about an appropriate "tone" on the boards, and the fact that he's either
part of the team, or he's off the team.
