Something that Scott wrote on the other list
concerned me slightly, and I wanted to clarify. We have agreed to pick up
both the cost of the field trip and meals for Ole & Troels. Likewise,
they will HAVE to have a room for at least 3 nights (Thurs, Fri & Sat.) to
participate in the whole convention. I think we also need to work with
them around whether they need to stay Sun. night or not. This wasn't
specifically discussed in the arrangement I forwarded to the BOD from Claus, but
I think we need to be sensitive to the needs of our guest speakers!
As I mentioned in another post, they would like to
come a couple of days early and do things in the SF area. I am happy to
entertain them, and come earley enough to do that. But when I did that for
Christel, it was easy, because we just shared a room for the whole time, and I
paid for the extra days. Sorry guy, I don't care how nice Ole & Troels
are, I'm not bunking with two guys for the convention. ;-) So, can we
afford to offer them a night or two extra before the convention, or do I need to
tell them they are on their own for those two nights. I know that Claus
and Amano both came in early and were entertained in this way, btu I don't know
what the financial arrangements were.
