Otoh, I could be totally nuts about there being a fee -- the room and board 
alone buys the goods? Could we have overestimated those costs in 2004.

The basic arrangement, except for tax purposes, is that, in essence, the club 
buys the goods for a flat fee and Ray presents them for one or two days, then 
they go into auction on behalf of the club. In exchange for presenting  the 
goods, the goods-makers pay Ray's trans. The club also pay's Ray's room and 
board. Ray also auctioneers, although I've only seen this at a few bigger 
events.

I just want us to be clear up front what is usual or unusual in the arrangement 
we made this year.

Also, Ray usually has some basic requirements. These are quoted from the ones 
he gave us for AGA2K4. Will all they apply in AGA2K6:

# Ray's Hotel and Food costs incurred during the event.
# 8 - 8' tables or 10 - 6' tables for display purposes.
# Secured, lockable room for displays.
# Your event must be a 2 - 3 day event.
# Products must be displayed until Sunday A.M.
# 1 year Membership corresponding Membership. (publication only)
# Individual thank you letters for the donated products and Ray's service 
to each manufacturer.
# If Kingfish Services is attending your event, you must not write to the 
represented manufacturers asking for donations for your event.
