A inversion typo -- it was supposed to be 1.3 * 42 = 54.6.
 
$42 is the amount quoted inthe contract, subject to the 30% tax and tip. Larry edited this to $42 inclusive. We ought to try for it, but for calculation purposes, I assumed as described, typos notwithstanding.
 
Whaaaat? You didn't think I was any good with numbers did you?

Otherwise I have no idea of the context -- I have been been pretty busy
this weekend and haven't looked at the contracts yet.  Will try to do so
