Judging from the recovery of the one fish, I feel that it isn't a
disease/parasite problem, but gill filament erosion. If it is gill filament
erosion caused by high levels of ammonia in the shipping water, then there is
little you can do but keep the water highly oxygenated and clean. Lower the
stress level on the fish by placing in an unlit, quiet, tank with plenty of
hiding places. Eventually the filaments will grow back and the fish will be OK -
if the gill filaments are not too far gone. If, on the other hand, it has a
disease or parasite problem you will have to treat for it. Malachite
Green/Formalin baths are very effective against external parasites, but too harsh
on fish with highly damaged gill filaments.
