This could be any number of things, most likely is an accumulation of stress
weakening the fish. Spawning and rearing, etc. weakening her, then the male
could be harassing her to the point she is just pooped out. If you have the
option then relocate here to another tank to give her a break, the male
should take over the parenting duties ok. Most loracids should be Ok with
the fry, I've got a gibby plec that just lets them be.

I've been doing the same sort of thing, but without any goal/direction other
than trying to un-inbread the common "domestic" LFS krib stock. Once you
take some drab common stock from a few different sources you will be amazed
at the "quality" of the results (ocelli, colours, vigour etc.). I basically
embarked on this as it appeared a good low cost lazy project, so I've not
kept real notes, nor tried to map any genetic traits. Some time after Easter
(life and work is going to be a bit hectic 'till then), I'll try to compile
what notes I have, and rummage my mind, and come up with something with a
bit more substance.
