I know I've not been a member of this list for very long, but my main feeling about the postings for meetings of one sort is that of envy of the number of social occasions you have open to you all in the U.S. I do feel it is important to get as many people from the various aspects of the hobby together, so as to avoid cliques. My main interests lie with Cichlids and Catfish, but I have been to meetings on Fancy goldfish, plants, Rainbowfish and others not because I want to keep them but because I want to know what these groups know about water quality, feeding, diseases etc. These moderated lists are the best medium we have for sharing and developing our enthusiasm for our hobby(or job in my case!), but society meetings do offer a chance to talk face to face to people, and so I think we should inform as many people as we can about them. There are bigger things in life to get annoyed about than a deletable e-mail.
