I have to agree with big John. I don't want to add fuel to any pending disagreement, but I've kept and bred a lot of Apistogramma with Corydoras in the tanks. It all depends on the fish (as John says, the dwarf Cory species are the best). It also works very well to raise Apisto fry and Cory fry together, after the mother apisto has left her brood. True, they do compete for the same food, but if there's enough being fed, the catfish will eat what the cichlids leave, and keep the water from fouling.
