I have moved eggs & mamma several times (with N. Anamola) and the mother has always found the eggs and continued to guard them. However, 3 cautionary notes:

In moving eggs always make sure the tank they are going to is largely filled with water from the first tank, or their swim bladders may not develop properly.

Second, in some instances the mother continued to guard the eggs, and then guarded the fry, but quietly reduced the numbers (Munchausen syndrome?). Whether this related to the move, I cannot say.

Third, Altisponsa are a more timid fish than N. Anomola and the same principles may not apply.
