On the subject of your sick female apisto, you might check the pH.
Sometimes it will become quite acidic and this will cause the eyes of
some of the fish to become cloudy and some will get a white dot in the
center. If this is the case, do a 25% water change. Then the next day
do a 50% water change. No matter what the problem is this won't hurt
and it might help.
