Nanochromis transvestitus are true "black water" fish. The water in the
natural environment has a a pH of around 4 and a counductivity of less then
5 us/cm. Having spawned them several times myself I can tell you I would be
inclined to look for the problemn else where. They come very soft acidic
waters in nature!
