John, Thanks a lot for the info. I found driftwood definitely has a calming effect on fish, apistos particularly. Only anecdotal information, but I noticed right after putting some driftwood in the tank that has some juvi wild caught bitaeniata, they became much more active and became more like apistos. The day after having the driftwood in the tank, they were doing their gill flaring and tail slapping. This is one of my first experiences with apistos in a tank designed to breed them, so i'm not sure what this all means but i'm sure i'll find out eventually. Already thinking about more. Thanks again. Steve jmburns@amidchaos.com wrote: > Well, I guess it's time for my first post to the list too. I got a pair of the "Lyretail Panduro" in > Cleveland. Adults.
