Polyfilter has been around for 20+ years. Most real aquarium stores know how to get
it - even in this fish wasteland that I call Denver! It comes in 3x12 & 12x12 in
sheets. It ain't cheap, either! Mardel now makes a similar product called MaraCare
that does the same thing. I've used it and it seems to work about as well.
