I purchased my Black Beauty in a 100 pound bag at a sand blasting supply
company.  I'm guessing it cost about $12, but I don't remember for sure.  The
shop was listed in the yellow pages, under (I think) "Sand Blasting Supplies."
It comes in different sizes, but the largest is just barely usable for an
undergravel filter.  It does need thorough washing as it will cast a grey
suspension in the water from its dust.
