Tomoko, IMHO, and I have gone the argue route with Wright over on the killie list on this one more then once, conductivity can be very misleading. GH and KH are not always directly related to conductivity. Conductivity is a measurement of electron flow. Add a very small amount of iron to the water (plant foods) and you can have GH 2, KH 1 water with a TDS reading of 120. Now weather the spawning is affected by the hardness (GH, KH) or the conductivity is another argument. Personally I use conductivity to ask the question can I put this fish into that water. If the change in conductivity (TDS or microS) is greater then 30%, I assimilate. I use GH and KH to determine the "softness" of my water related to breeding. By the way, borellii don't much care, they just do it.
