Umm, you're in trouble there... I know. I once had a tank with severums, clown loaches and Apistos. The severums grew, and grew, and offed the apistos. The loaches grew and grew, and died from poor conditions, taking the severum with them. Several years later, I realized I'd really liked the apistos, and the rest is another story. It's a grievously overcrowded tank, whatever the lighting and technical aspects. No amount of gear will save it. Even once it's cycled, I can't see it working. Five severum alone would be too much for a 55, IMHO. A rule I'd offer is that the dominant cichlid species in your tank should be your favorite species. So, when you have adult angels, severum and apistos, who will be the bottom of the pecking order? Six inch round severum, eight inch long clown loaches, two inch cacatuoides...? I would get rid of a lot of fish, fast. Sorry, but it beats how I did it many years back, by watching them die one by one and spending a small fortune on the medications the pet shop that tried to sell me more fish at the same time offered. You could keep apistos with tetras, corydoras and maybe even angels, but loaches and severum are from another league. -Gary ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@listbox.com.
