       This does sound a bit similar to an assumed Mycobacterial (TB) infection I
saw in a group of Keyhole Cichlids a while back.
       Any signs of bloating in the abdomen? Ulcerous wounds of any sort? Are the
spots in the musculature at the base of the fins?
      If this is a Mycobacterial infection it is not a cause to be concerned with
contracting it yourself other than following proper hygiene proceedures to keep
open wounds from coming in contact with infected material. Infection of humans is
possible but very rare since humans are not the usual host for this species of
bacteria (which is sadly common itself).
