For me in the immediate area, there is no place that sells apistos. About 4 times a year, i make the 6 hour drive out to buffalo NY, actually North Tonowanda, to The Fish Place. Jake and Pete always have a great selection of fish. The Fish Place also carries alot of everything. Its worth the long day for me, becuase i can almost always find something that interests me enough to take home and play with. With all these Large Chain stores going up replacing the local Mom and Pop shops, its harder to find the stuff im looking for. Of course after keeping apistos for quite some time now, i find it harder to find new species to work with, even if they arent brightly colored species or not. I have gotten to the point now where, if i havent done it yet, let me try them once, no matter what they look like. I've been suprised lately how the non spectacular looking species give me alot of joy watching them. I've gotten past the i need to have the most colorful species to work with stage. So with all the new stuff being found, i've got years of joy keeping apistos ahead of me.
