I agree. I'm a newcomer to the list but I think its good to find out peoples opinions on what products are the best or worst and where you get the best help with what you want. However, I don't think the list should be open to off-topic advertisers or people who are not on the mailing list. I think advertisers (in general) help people with their hobby (the same as people in general do). That's my two cents worth. -----Original Message----- From: owner-apisto@admin.listbox.com [mailto:owner-apisto@admin.listbox.com]On Behalf Of Scott Sent: Monday, 24 September 2001 11:55 PM To: apisto@listbox.com Subject: Re: advertising I don't agree at all. I depend on the lists I read for locating products and support. I for one would hate to see the email police (that is what this is, no offense to you but this is not your list) discourage someone from posting because they own the business in question. Nine times out of ten the posting will expose the business as bad or good. My vote is no for stopping people like ThreeGuysAquatics from mentioning what they carry. Of course, its not MY list either so Frank will get the final say. Mike (J.) you are doing this out of good intentions so don't think I am upset by your post I just wanted to speak up on the issue. --- Mike Jacobs <mjacobs2@tampabay.rr.com> wrote: > Mike......and everyone else.......please......I am > not the sky-marshal or > the e-mail police here: but there have been several > times in the past where > people used this list to further their "profit > making > adventures"..................the list got ugly > because so-and-so says this > and didn't do this and owes me money and his place > isn't worth doodle and > his fish die and I never got my money back from > so-and-so and........it gets > REAL UGLY.........do you see the > point?.............let me make the point > that maybe I sell "small-celled" sponges........you > just stepped on my foot > because of a "profit" motive not a belief > motive.........there is a huge > difference!
