RE: mixing apistos

Steve,
I have a total of 15 Apistos (8 different species) in my well planted 37
gallon tank. So I would say, if you want to add more Apistos, go for it.
Some people will say that my tank is too crowded, but it works for me. Every
once in a while someone will chase someone else, but not for very long. No
one has any nipped fins or anything. Mind you this is NOT my spawning tank,
it is basically my holding tank for my adults I am not spawning at the
moment. I have had a few spawns in this tank, but the eggs never last more
than a day or two...
As for CO2, for my 37 gallon planted tank I use pressurized CO2 and the
plants do great. I have to trim them at least once a week. In my 29 gallon
grow out tanks I have plants as well but no CO2 and the plants do fine, I am
just not trimming them very often. So it is sort of up to you as to how much
growth you want.

Later,
Eric Martina
