     I see worms like this alot. They probably came in on your plants. The ones that swim in an eel-like fashion are usually fairly reddish but there are others that are smaller and more white (and more worm-like when trying to swim). They seem to feed on decaying plant matter. I've cultured them before by putting lettuce in their water. Hard to raise very many of them but they made great food for some of my young fish (and axolotls).
