Hi, I lost two mature borellii males in the very same way. Somehow they injured themselves, either chased by a tankmate or by me when I used Python to vacuum the gravel. Once their jaws got infected after the initial injuries, their jaws eventually locked up and they could no longer eat and died :( As far as I can tell, the infection was not transmitted to other fish (two males died separately in different tanks/time.)
