Jerry, My copy is just fine. What you found isn't that uncommon with any published book. The pages are usually printed 4 per sheet and then folded. Once bound the pages are trimmed. This usually separates all the pages, but occasionally some pages don't get trimmed. Actually, before the 20th century books were sold uncut. The purchaser used a bone knife to separate the pages as they read the book. You could always tell a new book by its uncut pages. If you haven't done so, use a sharp pen knife to split the pages.
