Archie, Many of the apisto species will cohabit a large tank as long as there are a lot of hiding/breeding places and is aquascaped to make visible territorial boundaries. A well aquascaped 75 should be able to house 3 different looking apisto species in pairs or trios (e.g. A. sp. Masken, A. borellii, & A. cacatuoides). In this example all 3 species have different shapes and fairly mellow dispositions. The same tank will be lucky to keep more than 1 pair of A. atahualpa if it has virtually no aquascaping. This fish tends to be more aggressive to others of its own & other similar species than most apistos. My suggestion is to buy a copy of Römer's atlas and read about the fish you are interested in keeping.
