breeding tank-small powerhead

Mike,

You suggested using a powerhead that cycles between 50-100 gph on a sponge 
filter for an apisto breeding tank.  Does this provide enough filtration?  
I've never been a big fan of rigidly sticking to the numbers (If something 
works, it works!), but don't you want to try to filter your water load 
around 5 times per hour (I'm running a 29 gallon tank)?
