Pär, You may be correct. Meinken writes in the original description (translated from German): "... A stripe, consisting of one or two rows of wine red patches runs from the edge of the eye along the top of the back to the upper end of the caudal peduncle. Dorsal [fin] deep black at the base. Above there is a beautiful gold-yellow or ochre-yellow horizontal stripe that begins at the second dorsal spine, passes through the entire spiny dorsal, and fills out the base of the soft dorsal. In the outer part of the fin, the membrane between the spines is a beautiful wine red, the protruding part of the longest spines is again ochre-yellow and the elongated part of the soft fin a bright wine red, and the first 3 spines deep black. The anal [fin] is ochre-yellow, a few black spots may or may not be evident, and towards the outside the fin is boldly striped with wine red in the direction of the rays. On the end of the middle rays there are 3 or 4 clearly marked, wine red, vertical bars, typical of the species, and because of this I suggest that this new species should be given the aquarium name "Querbinden/Vertical-banded Apistogramma" or Vertical-banded Dwarf Cichlid. Ventrals [fins] ochre-yellow, and the elongated rays wine red." par.jansson@carlbro.se wrote: > So, may A. kleei be the red form A. bitaeniata? > Check this japanese page out for a pic: > http://www.rva.ne.jp/gallery/kleei.html > > /Pär Jansson > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@listbox.com. > For instructions on how to subscribe or unsubscribe or get help, > email apisto-request@listbox.com. apisto-digest@listbox.com also available. > Web archives at http://lists.thekrib.com/apisto > Trading at http://blox.dropship.org/mailman/listinfo/apisto_trader ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@listbox.com.
