Yup, looks like you've got a clutch. The female is attacking her mate because she sees no other possible danger. You have various possible solutions. 1 Put in some dither fish. These are cheap, expendable fish which the parents will attack, thus getting rid of their aggression 2 Add lots of cover (plants, rocks and/or driftwood) which will allow the male to hide away from the female. This can be done as well as 1 (above) 3 Remove the male to another tank 4 Remove the eggs/fry. This means rearing the fry by hand, a lot more work. Good luck C:-)lin ----- Original Message ----- From: SHAIKH WAHEED <shaikhw@yahoo.com> Date: Tue, 7 Jan 2003 04:06:23 +0000 (GMT) To: apisto@listbox.com Subject: breeding krib > hi, joined the list, I have 2 males and three females > of kribensis, they all were in 30 gal bare bottom > tank, gave them a single cave (inverted pot with > enterance hole) immediately one pair took over the > cave, female start living in cave and male starts > sentry duty outside, the rest of 3 hides behind the > pot, last night I observed that the female is keeping > out all others including her mate from the cave, so I > took out 3 kribs and transfered them in another tank, > I shall be thankfull if someone could tell me what is > happening in the cave, did they laid the eggs? and why > the female is charging her own mate, > thanks for an early input > Shaikh Waheeduddin > Karachi-Pakistan > > > ________________________________________________________________________ > Missed your favourite TV serial last night?
