Hi Pete! The commbraes are coming as bycatch with Ap. Borellii. Unfortunately they are not from the south. The shipment is coming from Mato Grosso. I would guess from the cuiaba area. To get some commbraes from the southest part of their distribution area, we have to relay on Felipe Cantera (company "Aquaterra") who is the only fish exporter in Uruguay! Look at previous discussions in the thread: "Apistos in the south" I´m having some correspondance with felipe now and then, so I keep reminding him to send some Commbraes also if he have any shipments to Scandinavia in the future. I really would like to get some commbraes from that population in Uruguay! Since I´m living in the north part of Sweden it´s a quite long trip to Germany. About 2000 km to Hamburg I would guess. But with the dropping prices on airline tickets (approx 35:-EUR Stockholm-Frankfurt, oneway) its becoming an interesting alternative to go there for some shopping :-) Best regards/ Per "Liptrot, Pete" <pete.liptrot@bolton.gov.uk> wrote: >You have found one of the species on my top five list! I'll probably give them to Ray Blackburn in exchange for a pint or two, he'll breed about 10,000 and then everyone will be sick of them (you listenin', Blackie?). I am finding them to be as tough as boots though. The advantage of having placed them in an aquarium with leaf litter is that I am hardly having to feed them. They are picking at the leaf surfaces constantly, and they are thriving on whatever it is they are finding (as are the baby Iguanodectes I have in with them). >We have a nice shop in south of sweden who is regulary >importing apistos from S-A. I will make enquiries as to the contact details for the exporter. How close are you to Germany? I know the exporter sends fish there quite regularly. >I will get a box of wildcaught Ap. Commbrae next week from >them! Nice. That's a fish I'd like to try. Are they from a Southern population?
