ppm

Hello Everyone,

I am quite new to the hobby, setting up my first net 64g tank right now. I aquired a gadget to measure PH, conductivity, and somthing measured in ppm. Well I now that ppm is part per million, but what is this good for?

I'm planning to have more species in the tank. Originally I planned about 5-6 different pairs, but according to my readings this might be to much. So my question would be: How many species may I put in this tank of mine? And Shall it be a pair or a group from one genus? Actually my tank is not really for breeding purposes, as you see, but everything might happen, who knows...

Thanks for the answers in advance.

FDG
